This plant is on the roof of the building. This type of plant was commonly found on the roofs of blacksmiths shops and is said to ward off evil spirits.

Close-up of the weathervane on the end of the roof. You wouldn't expect to see any other figures on a blacksmith's weathervane would you?

The constant wooshing noise you can hear in these video clips is the fan blowing air into the fire. The fan is doing the same job as the bellows would do.
